Hello everyone,
Buckinghamshire New University in collaboration with Bucks Students’ Union are inviting you to join an event aimed at Creative and digital industries (other schools are welcome to join if they have an interest in games).
This year we are taking a different approach to our game jam, by joining Global Game Jam (GGJ) event. Jam participants (students, alumni, staff) will have 48h to create a video or physical (usually board) game. GGJ team (us) will show a theme video which will have a word/sentence describing what the games should be built around (ex. last year the theme was 'roots' jammers created games based on nature- tree roots, farming- vegetable roots, family etc.) As the event is only 48 hours it is not a hard commitment for students, and you are not expected to create AAA quality games (although it would be very nice if you manage).
We want to get students from games development, 3d game art, animation, audio, etc. Any level of study is appropriate, you don’t need to have massive amounts of experience to join, in fact you will work in groups and learn together.
The event takes place Jan 26th 5pm- Jan 28th 5pm. Free food and snacks are included!
The event is in-person and online so if you can’t make it to university during weekend you can always join us via online platform Discord.
If you are interested in participation please register on the official GGJ website: https://globalgamejam.org/jam-sites/2024/buckinghamshire-new-university-2024
For any extra information don’t hesitate to contact me at Vytautas.Kravcenka@bucks.ac.uk
P.S. If you are worried about not having enough experience, this event is great for you too as you will be able to learn so much while contributing to a project you work on.
