We currently support over 25 societies, however we understand that we do not have a society for all interests or hobbies. This can change as we encourage the start-up of new societies here at BNU and we will give you the full support and guidance to do so.

Setting up a Society Process

Find 3 students
Find at least three students to start your committee. You must have a Chair, Vice Chair, and Finance Manager, but you can have more committee members. Role descriptions and other useful roles can be found in the Societies Handbook.

Paperwork review and Committee Training
The Activities Coordinator (Recreational Sport and Societies) will review the documents and contact the society committee members to invite them in for a meeting and undertake training for the committee.

Society created on website
The Activities Coordinator (Recreational Sport and Societies) will create the society and memberships added to the website to be able to purchase.

First Session
The Activities Coordinator (Recreational Sport and Societies) will work with you to organise a first session to get the society active.
